If you've entered a tournament and need to collect from parents, this probably sounds familiar:

  • Covering the entry fee upfront and hoping parents pay you back
  • Parents promising to transfer and going quiet for weeks
  • Not knowing if you have enough players confirmed to attend
  • Chasing individual payments as the tournament gets closer
  • Managing entry fees separately from the weekly subs pot

How it works

Three steps to collect tournament entry fees

Create a payment link

Set the entry fee per player and a clear deadline before the tournament.

Share with parents

Drop the link in your team WhatsApp group. Parents pay in seconds without creating an account.

See who's confirmed

Your dashboard shows who has paid so you know exactly who's attending before match day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • What's the best way to collect football tournament entry fees?

Before entering the tournament, create a Kollect link for the per-player entry fee with a deadline a day or two before the entry closing date. Share it in the team parent WhatsApp group. Only submit the squad list once you can see which players have paid — that way you're not entering children whose parents haven't actually committed.

  • Can I collect tournament entry fees separately from weekly subs?

Yes, and it's worth keeping them separate. Tournament entry is a one-off cost; subs are ongoing. Running a separate collection means parents can see clearly what they're paying for, and you're not trying to work out later whether a payment covered this week's match fee or the county cup entry.

  • Does every parent need to create an account to pay?

No. The link goes into the parent WhatsApp group and that's all they need to do apart from pay. Most parents complete it in under a minute on their phone. Only the manager or club secretary setting up the collection needs a Kollect account.

  • What if a player drops out after the entry has been paid?

If they drop out before you've submitted the entry, refunding the parent is a conversation between you and them — Kollect doesn't control that. If the entry is already submitted and the withdrawal is last-minute, whether the fee is recoverable depends on the tournament's own terms. The player who never paid is the easier case: they weren't confirmed, so there's nothing to unwind.
