Planning a stag or hen do: get everyone paid before you book anything
The hardest part of organising a stag or hen do isn't choosing the activity — it's collecting £85 from twelve people in the same fortnight you're trying to secure a house booking that needs a deposit. What to do when someone drops out
Someone always drops out. If they've already paid and you haven't yet booked, you can choose whether to refund them — that's between you and them, not something Kollect controls. If they haven't paid and the deadline has passed, they're simply not confirmed, which is the cleanest outcome possible.
Where it gets complicated is the person who paid, drops out after you've booked the cottage, and now wants a refund. Head this off early: mention in the collection description that contributions are non-refundable once the booking is made. That way, everyone knows the terms before they pay and the conversation never has to happen.
Managing a large group

Does everyone need to sign up to pay?
No sign-up at all — everyone in the group just opens the link and pays, whether they're in the main WhatsApp chat or you've had to track them down separately. You're the only one who needs a Kollect account; everyone else just goes through the link.
Can I collect for accommodation and activities separately?
Yes. Create one collection per expense (e.g. one for the house, one for the activity). Share each link when it's relevant, and close them individually as you make each booking.
What if someone drops out?
If they haven't paid by the deadline, they're simply not in — clean and straightforward. If they've paid and then bail after you've put a deposit down, that's between you and them. Worth stating upfront in the collection description that contributions are non-refundable once the lodge deposit is committed.
